Traffic Court Records in Jeff Davis
State Court handles misdemeanors, traffic included. Julie Wilkinson's Clerk of Superior Court office manages those files, and Georgia Courts E-Access sends State Court searches to PeachCourt. Hazlehurst Municipal Court is a different operation. It handles city ordinance matters plus certain misdemeanor and traffic cases at 17 Johnson Street, and its clerk and Government Window payment route stay apart from the State Court docket.
Check the court name on your citation before picking a portal. A traffic docket entry may list the citation, the setting, a plea, each proceeding, any disposition and order, and the financial terms the court controls. One payment receipt never equals the whole file.
Jeff Davis Has Separate Portals
Two portals, two courts. Jeff Davis State Court runs through PeachCourt via Georgia Courts E-Access, while Hazlehurst Municipal Court points to Government Window for ticket payment. The State clerk takes questions by phone, mail, fax, or at the courthouse counter. Hazlehurst answers by phone, email, mail, or at its municipal counter. Neither online route reaches every county traffic matter.
A vendor page that will not load does not mean your case is gone. Georgia Courts warns that citation data can take 7 to 21 business days to show up online. When data runs late, keep the ticket and call the clerk named on it.
How to Look Up a Traffic Ticket
Georgia Courts traffic guidance confirms there is no centralized citation search. Start instead with the issuing court and the number printed on the ticket. A court-specific lookup might accept a name, city or county, date of birth, citation number, court case number, or driver-license number. Exact fields vary by vendor. The Hazlehurst portal may not open for every visitor.
- Read the issuing court and citation number.
- Use that court's official portal.
- Enter only fields the official screen requests.
- Call or visit the clerk if the ticket has not posted.
- Confirm the date and allowed response with the court.
Finding Your Traffic Court Date
Your citation or summons states the first appearance date. Hazlehurst sessions usually fall on the third Thursday of each month. Still, the date and time printed on the ticket control. The municipal clerk can confirm at (912) 375-6614. For State Court, check the current docket or your notice. Call the clerk at (912) 375-6615 if anything is unclear.
Filing a continuance request does not create a new date. Hazlehurst's form wants the citation, the original date, a reason, supporting material, and a signature. Approval is discretionary. Treat the original setting as live until the court confirms a reset.
| Citation Number | Use the exact printed number; no universal Jeff Davis format is published. |
|---|---|
| Court | State Court, Hazlehurst Municipal, or the court printed on the ticket. |
| Date & Time | Use the current citation, summons, order, or clerk confirmation. |
| Courtroom | Confirm the location with the named court. |
| Status | Ask whether the case is pending, resolved, reset, or requires appearance. |
Hazlehurst Traffic Date Pattern
Treat the third-Thursday pattern as a planning aid, not a promise. Holidays, emergency orders, and granted continuances can all move a Hazlehurst session. For the exact date, rely on the summons and the court clerk.
- Setting
- A scheduled appearance or hearing.
- Continuance
- A requested or approved move to another date.
- Disposition
- The recorded result of the charge.
- FTA
- A failure to appear reported first by the court.
A payment button is not a court calendar. And a submitted continuance form never cancels the old setting on its own.
Paying or Contesting a Ticket
Hazlehurst takes payment in full at the court or through its approved online service. The online service adds a convenience fee. Partial payments cannot be made online. Be careful about timing. Paying before court can act as a guilty resolution on some citations. Other charges still require an appearance, so confirm the effect first. The city's Request for Trial form offers a not-guilty route and notes a possible State Court jury-trial transfer, subject to court approval.
| Paying the Ticket | Contesting the Ticket |
|---|---|
| May record a guilty resolution for an eligible citation | Requests adjudication under the court's rules |
| [DEADLINE - when payment is due] | [DEADLINE - when the plea must be entered] |
| [WHERE - online, by mail, at the window] | [WHERE - in person or in writing to which court] |
[FLAG HEADING - e.g. "Missed Court Date or Payment"]: [2-3 SENTENCES - Research ยง17. What failure to appear or pay triggers here: the added charge or fee, the arrest warrant, the license or registration hold, and how to clear it.]
Jeff Davis FTA Sequence
A failure to appear touches two custodians. The court first records the missed appearance and controls how the citation gets resolved. Georgia DDS then receives the court report. It handles any license action. Per DDS, an FTA suspension takes effect 28 calendar days after notice arrives. The Georgia DDS FTA guidance sets out that sequence.

The court has to resolve and release the citation first. Only then can DDS process the court's report.
Court Traffic Record vs Driver Record
The court traffic record belongs to the issuing court or clerk. It can hold the citation, plea, appearances, docket entries, disposition, order, and court-controlled terms. Georgia DDS owns the driver record. That file covers conviction reporting, license status, points, and suspensions. One record is not a copy of the other.
A DDS screen or a payment receipt cannot stand in for the court docket. A blank court portal, likewise, says nothing about the DDS file. Ask each custodian only for the record it keeps.
| Court Traffic Record | Driver Record | |
|---|---|---|
| Kept By | Issuing court and clerk | Georgia DDS |
| Shows | [CITATION, PLEA, DISPOSITION, FINE] | [CONVICTIONS, POINTS, SUSPENSIONS] |
| How to Get It | Court portal, phone, mail, or counter | Official DDS record channel |
Jeff Davis Traffic Snapshots
DDS monthly reports listed seven citations from Hazlehurst Municipal Court in November 2025 and 77 from Jeff Davis State Court in December 2025. The months differ and the courts differ. So do not add the figures or read them as a head-to-head comparison.
They are aggregate reporting snapshots, not fines, outcomes, issuance totals, or any person's file.
Fees and Copies
Jeff Davis State Court and Hazlehurst Municipal Court publish no official fine schedule. They also publish no certified copy fee for traffic records. That gap matters. A vendor's service charge is not the clerk's copy fee. Never treat one as the other. Call the issuing court with the citation or case number. Name the document you want, and specify the copy type and delivery method.
| Item | Fee | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Plain court record | Call court | No local amount published |
| Certified court record | Call court | Ask about payment and mailing |
| Online payment service | Transaction displays fee | Not a copy fee |
When Jeff Davis Data Is Late
If a deadline is close, pick up the phone instead of waiting on a portal. State Court answers at (912) 375-6615; Hazlehurst Municipal at (912) 375-6614. Ask the clerk three things: has the citation posted, is an appearance required, and what written response does the court accept. Keep your citation, any receipt, and any clerk notice in a safe place. Those documents help the court find the file fast. They also tell a posting delay apart from a search in the wrong court.
No Jeff Davis Fine Schedule
Neither court posts an official fine schedule. The amount you owe, whether you must appear, and how a charge can be resolved all turn on the specific charge and court. Government Window's service fee sits apart from whatever the court itself sets, and a disabled payment button can hint at a required appearance or a missed date. Confirm every amount with the issuing court before you pay. Requesting a record copy? Ask for plain-copy and certification costs separately.
