Search Jeff Davis Criminal Dockets
The Georgia Courts E-Access directory is the first stop. It lists Jeff Davis State and Jeff Davis Superior as separate choices, and both send you to PeachCourt. An account is required there. Pick the county and the right court, then search by case number or party name. Georgia's official help gives no Jeff Davis case-number pattern, so copy the number straight from court papers instead of borrowing a format from another county.
Not every court is on the online route. A Hazlehurst citation stays with the Municipal Court clerk unless later papers move it. Warrant and preliminary-hearing records may start in Magistrate Court. Juvenile cases follow separate access rules. If you cannot tell which court holds the case, call the office on the citation, accusation, summons, or warrant notice before trusting a blank result.
- Read the court name and case number on the official papers.
- For Superior or State Court, choose that exact Jeff Davis court in E-Access and sign in to PeachCourt.
- Search by the full case number first. Try a carefully spelled party name only if needed.
- Compare the case header, charge lines, calendar events, proceedings, and disposition fields.
- Ask the responsible clerk for an unavailable document or certified copy.
Jeff Davis PeachCourt Access
PeachCourt wears two hats for Jeff Davis Superior and State Courts. It is the docket access point. It is also the mandatory e-filing provider. Those roles differ. A public reader can open an existing case. A filer picks a case, chooses a document type, uploads it, selects eService, pays a charge, and submits it for acceptance. The PeachCourt access screen asks for an email and password. New users can register from the same page. The official page shows the account gate. It stands in front of Jeff Davis County criminal docket access. No private case appears on it.
That account gate is why the field details come from PeachCourt's official help rather than from any copied personal record. Registration asks for a name, email confirmation, a password, a security question and answer, reCAPTCHA, and agreement to terms. The official registration page appears next.
An account opens the provider route, but it still will not surface restricted files or lower-court material.
What Jeff Davis Criminal Dockets Show
PeachCourt's official criminal field guide splits the case header from later activity. Read each line with its date and label. A charge is only an allegation. It is a filed offense description, nothing more. A disposition records what happened later. A calendar event is a setting. It does not prove the hearing occurred. It does not prove the court reached an outcome. Documents and docket proceedings appear as distinct parts of the display.
| Case header | Case identity, assigned judge, case status, attorneys, and any listed co-defendants. |
|---|---|
| Charges | Filed offense descriptions. They are not findings of guilt. |
| Calendar events | Settings connected to the case, which require date confirmation. |
| Docket proceedings | Dated entries for filings and court action. |
| Disposition | The result and disposition date when published. |
| Case documents | Available images or retrieval notices; not every attachment is online. |
Jeff Davis Charges and Dispositions
A charge line and a disposition answer different questions. The charge says what offense was alleged or filed. The disposition says what later became of that charge or case. Check the disposition date too. A hearing setting between those lines is part of the history, but the setting by itself proves no plea, trial, dismissal, or sentence.
- Charge
- The offense allegation shown on the criminal docket.
- Setting
- A scheduled court event that may later be reset or continued.
- Disposition
- The recorded result for a charge or case.
- Restricted
- Access limited by law, rule, order, or a record-restriction process.
- Sealed
- All or part of a record withheld from ordinary public access.
When the exact terms matter, pull the linked order or a certified copy. A short status label can never replace the signed court record.
Jeff Davis Criminal Docket Stages
A criminal case can open with a warrant or preliminary process in Magistrate Court. It then moves to an accusation or indictment in State or Superior Court. The later trial-court docket is a separate record. Entries may list the assigned judge. They may include filed motions, calendar events, plea or trial activity, disposition, and sentencing. Cases skip steps. A reset can add more than one setting before anything else happens.
Docket flow: Warrant or filing › Arraignment › Pretrial settings › Plea or trial › Disposition › Sentencing
State Court also handles probation revocation, bench warrants, bonds, committal hearings, and misdemeanor traffic matters. The docket's own chronology tells you which events belong to one case.
Jeff Davis Clerk Retrieval
A PeachCourt result is an index and event record, not the whole certified case file. PeachCourt notes that some documents require retrieval by the court. Sealed documents and adoption records are excluded from ordinary purchase. Proposed orders that were never executed are excluded too. An entry without an image tells you nothing about the filing itself.

Jeff Davis Criminal Docket Courts
Jeff Davis County splits its criminal docket across five courts. Superior Court hears the felonies. State Court takes misdemeanors and traffic. It also handles warrants, preliminary hearings, and probation revocation, and it keeps a full record. Magistrate Court issues arrest and search warrants. It handles the early steps of a case, though it is not a court of record. Inside Hazlehurst, Municipal Court runs its own docket. It covers ordinances and certain misdemeanor or traffic charges. Juvenile Court sits apart as a youth court with limited public access.
| Court | Criminal role | Access route |
|---|---|---|
| Superior | Felony and general-jurisdiction criminal matters | PeachCourt and Clerk of Superior Court |
| State | Misdemeanors, traffic, warrants, and revocations | PeachCourt and Clerk of Superior Court |
| Magistrate | Warrants and preliminary hearings | Suite 204 clerk, (912) 375-6630 |
| Hazlehurst Municipal | City ordinances and certain misdemeanor or traffic cases | 17 Johnson Street clerk, (912) 375-6614 |
Route your search by the court named on the newest official paper in the file. That detail beats everything else. Paying a municipal ticket through an online portal does not turn that case into a State Court docket.
Blank Jeff Davis Criminal Searches
A blank PeachCourt result is not proof that no case exists. Start by confirming you selected Jeff Davis State or Jeff Davis Superior. Then recheck the full case number and the name spelling. Older paper files can leave a partial result. So can a case still sitting in a lower court, restricted access, or an attachment nobody indexed. Each can leave a fragment on your screen.
Warrant and preliminary matters go to the Jeff Davis Magistrate Court. The number is (912) 375-6630, Suite 204. Hazlehurst cases belong to the Municipal Court at (912) 375-6614 or court@hazlehurstga.gov. For Superior and State matters, the courthouse counter is the fallback. The county posts no public terminal schedule. Call ahead before you travel to pull a file.
Juvenile cases are not ordinary public criminal searches. Ask the clerk which authority governs access rather than working around a restriction.
Hazlehurst Criminal Docket Route
Hazlehurst Municipal Court keeps its own docket. It covers city ordinance violations and certain misdemeanor or traffic matters. Its official page names the Municipal Court clerk as the source for everything. Settings, forms, status, and records all run through that office. The office sits at 17 Johnson Street, Hazlehurst, GA 31539. Reach it at (912) 375-6614 or court@hazlehurstga.gov.
The Government Window link is a payment route only. It is not a complete public criminal docket for the city. Pull the citation or summons to get the case number and the first court date. If later papers route the charge to State Court, start a fresh docket search. Use Jeff Davis State in PeachCourt. Treat the city record and the county trial-court record as two separate things. They are not one continuous online display.
Hazlehurst's open-records form lets you request inspection, email, or paper delivery. The city promises an answer within three business days. You get the record, a cost estimate, or a timetable, subject to fees and exemptions.
Jeff Davis Sealed Docket Access
Georgia opens Superior Court records to public inspection. That is the default. Law or court order can still limit that access. Uniform Superior Court Rule 21 requires notice, a hearing, and findings before anything is restricted. Rule 21.6 goes further. It allows a public redacted filing alongside an unredacted version held under seal. So a docket entry can stay visible while its attachment stays hidden.
Key Rules:
Uniform Superior Court Rule 21 sets the public-access baseline and procedure for limits.
Georgia record-restriction guidance explains that restriction is not the same as deleting every record.
Georgia Open Records Act guidance applies to agency records, while judicial records also follow court rules.
The official Georgia restriction page assigned to this criminal docket appears below.
Use that sealing process for its stated purpose and nothing else. It cannot replace a direct question to the Jeff Davis clerk about why one docket or document is off limits.
